Frequently Asked Questions

More Privacy & Confidentiality:
When you don’t go through insurance, your mental health records are not shared with insurance companies. This can provide greater privacy and more control over your personal information.
No Diagnosis Required:
Insurance companies typically require a mental health diagnosis to approve and cover therapy. With self-pay, therapy can be more flexible, allowing you to focus on growth, relationships, or emotional wellness—even if you don’t meet diagnostic criteria.
More Freedom in Treatment Approach:
Self-pay and out-of-network clients often have more flexibility in the frequency, length, and focus of sessions without restrictions from insurance policies or limits.
Easier Access to Services:
You may be able to start sooner, without waiting for insurance authorizations or dealing with network limitations.

If you have a PPO or POS insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for therapy sessions. We’re happy to provide a superbill (a receipt with all necessary codes) that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
