EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy for Trauma and Emotional Healing
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and even physical symptoms related to emotional stress. EMDR therapy works by helping the brain reprocess distressing memories so they no longer carry the same emotional charge.
During an EMDR session, Linda Tremblay, LCMHC, guides the client to recall a traumatic or disturbing experience while engaging in bilateral stimulation—such as side-to-side eye movements, hand tapping, or auditory tones. This process is believed to mimic the brain’s natural healing mechanisms, much like those that occur during REM sleep, allowing the individual to integrate and resolve traumatic material.
The Path to Trauma Relief
EMDR is known to accelerate the healing process for both past and present events that continue to cause emotional pain or discomfort. Over time, clients often report significant relief from symptoms and a noticeable increase in emotional resilience and clarity.
A typical EMDR session is approximately 90 minutes. It is a powerful therapeutic tool for those seeking deeper healing and lasting transformation.
